We are pleased to introduce you to award winning Boston sports artist Mark Waitkus shown above as he works on the 2008 Boston Marathon original painting. Mark was selected to commemorate the Boston Red Sox World Series victory as well as other events for Major League Baseball. Because Mark is equally passionate about sports and nostalgia, he brings the perfect complement of historical appreciation and artistic skill to this Collector's Series. Remember your achievement for years to come with this first in a Collector's Series of fine art lithographs. Mark remembers having a true passion for painting when he was only seven years old. Equally passionate about sports and nostalgia, he gathers inspiration from historic ballparks, legendary teams, old diners, and historical buildings. His expressive brush strokes and use of color bring his watercolors to life, providing a feeling of being a part of the nostalgia he recreates. Waitkus skillfully uses each and every stroke to present rich color and detail. His work has earned accolades with numerous clients including the Boston Red Sox, Boston Braves Historical Society, Sports Museum of Boston, Fleet Center, LA Dodgers, Jimmy Fund, Boston University, Harvard University, and Holy Cross College. |
