Mark remembers having a true passion for painting when he was only seven years old. Equally passionate about sports and nostalgia, he gathers inspiration from historic ballparks, legendary teams, old diners, and historical buildings.
His expressive brush strokes and use of color bring his watercolors to life, providing a feeling of being a part of the nostalgia he recreates. Waitkus skillfully uses each and every stroke to present rich color and detail. His work has earned accolades with numerous clients including the Boston Red Sox, Boston Braves Historical Society, Sports Museum of Boston, Fleet Center, LA Dodgers, Jimmy Fund, Boston University, Harvard University, and Holy Cross College.
