Evey Schweig is a freelance artist and illustrator, specializing in watercolor and pen & ink. She has achieved international prominence, having been commissioned to create the official limited edition lithographs for the 1996 Walt Disney World Marathon, the 1994, 1995, and 1996 New York Marathons, the 1995 Boston Marathon, and, most recently, the 2001 Boston and Chicago Marathons. The 1995 Boston image was featured on the cover of Boston, the official guidebook of the Greater Boston Convention and Visitor's Bureau. Ms. Schweig has received recognition for her designs in an international art competition sponsored by the prestigious Artists' Magazine, and she was featured on the cover of North Light Magazine. Evey is a member of the Lakes Region Watercolor Guild. She was born and raised in the metropolitan New York area. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University, focusing on biology and art. Upon graduation, the artist moved to Boston where she studied at some of the Northeast's most prestigious institutions, including the Massachusetts College of Art, New England School of Art and Design, Harvard University, and the Rhode Island School of Design. Professionally, she illustrated and designed exhibits for the Boston Museum of Science. Evey's skills of observation and eye for detail, as well as a love of organic form, led her to the field of medical illustration and a position at the Tufts/New England Medical Center. Her works have been published in numerous leading medical journals. From Donna: "Evey is the consummate professional. Her eye for detail is the finest I've ever encountered. In addition, she has the ability to capture the enormity and festivity of these historic events with the lovely touch only an impressionist can convey. I so enjoy the synergism that flows form our working relationship. |
